There she lay on the ground, beaten and bloodied, trying to take on an entire army on her own, but she did not fear death, nor fear for what was to come, she was afraid because she had let him down. She had promised to take care of herself, the army would be no problem, these monsters just fodder to her and yet she did not see such an incredible creature spawn from the nothingness, he had a mind, could speak, towered over the others and played with her like she was a toy. As she lay there, the rain pouring down upon her battered body, washing away the blood and hiding her tears, she asked for the hero to come but he could no longer hear her words, for he was just too far away, so as she wept in the silent darkness she asked him to forgive her, for she had no idea what would happen here on this day. Around her, the army waited, watching with their cold, dead eyes, to see if she would show any signs of life, for if she did they would strike and tear down what was not there. “I just want to at least hear your voice again…” She whispered into the night air as she heard the footsteps, each tremendous thud louder than the other as whatever was coming to her got closer. She could hear the laugh echo as it got closer, it was a laugh no one could ever forget, it was too maniacal, full of hatred and evil, of course, this hatred spewed off of his body freely for the eyes to see. Had Shadow and the hero not saved the worlds from hatred before? Why was it back now? And why had she so foolishly try to take on an entire army herself with no one by her side. Her head slowly turned and looked up, there it was, that smile that she had seen before, such an evil smile. This monster towered over her wearing a black vest over his large muscular body, fingerless black and grey gloves, baggy black pants, and gothic like boots on his feet, it had enough sense to even dress as normally as one of us, where was the sense in this creature? Though upon first glance it did not seem like he was a monster, he had a tanned skin tone, a tribal tattoo upon his exposed chest, no distinctive like monster features on his face, albeit while she was fighting him she noticed horns on his head, and spikes protruding off of his body, but besides that he looked normal, tall and muscular beyond a normal humans standards but normal nonetheless, he even had his long black hair pulled into a pony tail. “Well, well if it isn’t the princess, thinking she could take on the darkness herself. Heh, how pathetic.” With one swing of his fists he knocked down his own minions and laughed, relishing in the thought of his own insane power. “Shut up…I don’t care how many of you there are..I-I made a promise.” “A promise? More of those stupid ‘emotions’ that got you here in the first place? I’m sick of your babbling, now you die..” The tears now clearly seen even through the rain, ran down her cheeks, eyes red as she watched the fist reel back and get into place for the killing blow. “Hold it right there!” A blot of lighting came soaring down from the sky, frying most of the army as it sped towards her and the monster that stood inbetween them and before the fist could connect, it had a foot go into it’s owners jaw. “R-Raiden?” A red headed male carrying a blue and red buster sword, with a rev handle, stood there smiling. “I may not be your boyfriend…” “He’s not my!” “Hey, I was just kidding, don’t get so serious.” He laughed and turned around to face her, her cheeks bright red, even now she was feeling the embarrassment. “Anyway, I may not be Xin, but I’m here to help.” He smiled brightly, and jumped up in time to dodge a leg coming straight for him. “No one hits me! NO ONE!!!” “Chill ya big mammoth, I’m here to give ya a challenge.” He laughed again, revving up his sword causing sparks and lightning to flow off of it like it was a normal everyday thing to be carrying around such a dangerous element. “You give me a challenge? Hah! You humans and your emotions all get you killed, there was no reason to come to save her…if it gets you killed too.” He grinned and flexed, his muscles bulging even more. “Heh, with his muscles he can’t be very fast..” Raiden thought, a small smirk spreading across his face. But before he could even react a fist had smashed up against his rib cage, his eyes whited out, spit flew out of his mouth and he was sent reeling backwards. “RAIDEN!” She screamed out as she watched him bounce along the ground like a rubber ball. In front of her eyes, the beast was there before Raiden’s body stopped bouncing, pounding upon it as if it were no person, just a lifeless sac, but sadly, that’s probably all he was at this point. Fed up with this interference, he tossed Raiden up into the air by his arm, and reeled his arm back as it started to slowly glow dark purple. “Die..” He punched up into the air where Raiden’s body was falling and following that punch was an eruption of energy, taking the form of a cone shaped blast, completely catching Raiden in it’s path. As it connected the following explosion caused too much dust, smoke and debris to see if there was a body, but as impatient as he was and having another kill waiting for him, he ignored the scene and walked back towards her. “Raiden…” She whispered, crawling back to her knees, holding onto her arm as she watched this creature walk towards her. “Now it’s your…” “Extraho Intorqueo!” “What n..” Before he could even finish his sentence, a raging twister picked him up off the ground, launching him into the air and down below him, in the middle of the twister was someone else. glaring up at him with eyes as dark as night. “heh..” He whispered launching a wave of black and red into the heart of the tornado, but not before zooming around every angle and corner unleashing more until there was nothing left but explosion, after explosion.

“You…you came!” Her face filled with excitement as her hero stood in front of her, a blackened sword in his right hand and Raiden slung over his left shoulder. “Of course I did.” He said lightly, still serious as can be, something very odd for his behavior. “Xin..wh-what’s wrong?” “Nothing..” He was lying, he knew something was about to happen, he just couldn’t tell her what. Without looking into her eyes, he turned around, placing Raiden’s body next to her and managed to react in time to block a giant fist, holding Esperlancer backwards, his body turned towards his friends, his face looking down at the ground. The blade barely moved, except from the tension caused as the beast tried to push Xin away. “DAMN YOU, DAMN YOU, DAMN YOU!!!!!!” He now looked more like the beast he was, skin pure white, horns adorned upon his head, spikes protruding from his body, though they may have just been bone from what Xin thought, his eyes whited out, jacket torn to shreds, and lets count the fact he was at least five times the size he was before. A smile came along the girl’s face as she watch Xin hold the monster back with little to no effort, she knew her hero could win, there was no reason to worry. “You, I don’t care who you are! You can’t beat me!! No one can!” “First my name is Xin…Hiroshima..and you’re right..I can’t..” Her heart nearly stopped as she listened to his words. “Wh-what do you mean you can’t beat him…you’re Xin!” “That doesn’t matter…in the state I’m in now, I couldn’t lay a real finger on him.” Fed up with holding the beast back, Xin flipped Esperlancer around with his fingers, slicing into it’s fist before spinning around and unleashing a Dark Fang into it’s chest, but not just the blast itself, he included the blade in the attack and used enough force as he let the darkness escape from his blade to send the creature flying. “But, but you just did that?!” “And he’ll come back, madder and stronger…I can’t win like this…it’s why I want to tell you…” He kept his head pointing towards the ground, his back still to her, the sadness in his voice very apparent. “I will always protect you, I will always be there to save you…even if you hate me…even if I’m something I’m not I will be there…I will never hate you. I’ll always be your hero, even if you leave my side.” By this point in his statement, the tears that had stopped upon his arrival were now back, this time from sadness and confusion, what was he talking about, what exactly was he going to do. “I’ll give my life to make sure you still live…” And with that he lifted his head, placed his left hand over the right side of his face, and in the blink of an eye, his dark eyes had become bright yellow. “Epsilon…” “I know, I know…” Xin was now in his mental realm, the labyrinth that normally made up his mind now slowly crumbling. “You must really care for her…” “I do…that’s why…I’m willing to do this…” Soon the both of them started to fall head first into the darkness, the emptiness, and as they fell it got colder, and life seemed so far away, and the only thought he could muster was the need to protect her. Soon the two halves of Xin, fused into one as they descended into the darkness, no one in control on the body, just the pure uncontrolled rage of darkness. “I-I’m sorry…” On the outside, Xin’s body was going insane,he was clutching his head as pillars of darkness erupted around him, following him as he moved away from her and Raiden, swinging Esperlancer around wildly, his body became more defined, his jet black hair became silver, his fingernails grew into short claws, his teeth became more defined, almost vampire like, as his face was slowly covered in a mask of darkness, absorbing his face into the shadows. The mask itself had teeth and a mouth, which when closed hid the real mouth of Xin Hiroshima but it was not just his mouth, it was his entire face, and the yellow eyes from before were now gone, replaced by darkness, the cold emptiness of the mask hid his real eyes from view. The pillars swirled around him even faster, more violently, going from close to far and repeating until a giant one located within the smaller ones erupted from beneath him, destroying most of the ground underneath him, and causing the rubble randomly located around to float into the air, but it was the immensity and denseness of his darkness that was the killing point, what was left of the army was now blown away and the girl stood there, holding onto her chest for it was a struggle to breath. “T-this isn’t Xin…” She thought, her eyes widened, shocked and scared as she stared upon the transformed Xin standing in front of her. “Is he doing this for me?” She thought, the tears coming out even more now, as she shook her head almost violently, sending tears everywhere. “No, no, no, no!!” The transformed Hiroshima, stood there, clutching Infinite Destiny in his hands, the chain of darkness that Epsilon only used now wrapped around his arm, up to his shoulder blade. There stood not a man, but a monster, for his appearance had changed for the worse, and with every step he took, a faint purple dragon, appeared over him, mimicking his movements as if he were the dragon itself. Soon the beast emerged from his rubble, and looked rand back to the scene furious, but there he saw not Hiroshima, but a monster as evil looking as he. “Who the hell are you?! Where’d that Hiroshima brat go?” Hiroshima did not move, nor answer the creature, he just sat there, darkness pouring out of his mouth like smoke, his hand gripping his weapon ever so tightly. “I said an…” Xin roared into the air, arms outstretched, his hair that remained uncovered by the mask, flaring up wildly, as his power was going to be known, it was so dense it could physically be seen in the air, distorting it, and twisting it like the sun when it heats up the air and ground. Even the creature was caught off guard but too proud to admit there may be something stronger than he, went to punch Xin,but Xin caught his arm with his free one, as big as it was, he then dug his claws into the monsters skin and bone, keeping a tight grasp on the fist. “ARGH!” But that wasn’t the end of his pain, Xin took Infinite Destiny, charged up what seemed to be a Dark Fang, albeit much more menacing, and sliced cleanly through the monsters arm. “What the?!?!” He still did not have time to react for Xin was now beating him down with his own arm, swinging it around freely as though it weighed nothing to him. He slammed the fist into it’s owner chest before tackling him with all his might, sending crashing into the ground. “What, I am the great Bestia! How can I be bested by this…this thing?!” In his anger he swung towards Xin again, but his speed was even more incredible, he ‘flashed’ away from the incoming fist and started to run along his arm, up towards Bestia’s head. Xin jumped into the air, and instead of a load roar, he did more of a heavy breathing, gargling one, Infinite Destiny clutched into both of his hands, held high and over his head, a twister of darkness surrounding the blade. “Wha?!” Xin came crashing down upon Bestia’s face with the power stored in the blade, sending him crashing even further into the ground, or what was left of it, the impact of the attack destroyed most of the ground but it was the rush of darkness from the impact that got rid of the rest.

It had been exactly one month since that day Xin gave his soul to darkness to protect the one he loved so very much, but it had been a destructive month indeed, anything he perceived as a threat was instantly destroyed in seconds usually just by his roar alone. Raiden stood on the outskirts of what used to be the Hikari Islands, they thought by bringing her to this isolate world she would be safe, but it only aggravated him more and caused him to destroy his own home to get her back. “What am I going to do…I’m just one person..” Raiden said clenching his fists as he stared out at the mass of nothingness, just the water and small part of island that was left. By this point in time most of the worlds had fallen by Xin’s hands, crumbled into nothingness but yet they still followed and cherished him. He may have been their destructor where others had failed but he was their hero before hand, sacrificing many a thing of his own to make sure everyone else was alive and well, thus they followed him and made up a world of his own but they gave the other heroes a path to follow for their final confrontation against their best friend. “Is he…is he..” “Oh..it’s you..” Raiden said calmly as a portal erupted behind him, a girl with bright red hair following another with dark black hair. “Yes Rayne, Shadow…Xin is no longer the same as he once was. I’m going to have to kill him…” “Shadow shook her head, and took her usual perch stance on what remained of a house, placing a hand on her chin. “Yea, we saw how well that worked the first time…” She said solemnly referring to the first time he tried to fight Xin before being tossed away like nothing. “I’ll figure something out…” “Is there no way to save him without killing him?” Rayne tossed in, leading to grave looks on both the faces of Shadow and Raiden. “I don’t think so..” Shadow said, turning around to look down upon her and her bright green eyes. “He regenerates Darkness at such a rate that eliminating it from his body will only make him stronger and even if you were to find a way to stop his power from growing it would most likely kill him for it’s all that supports him now…” “No..no…no..” Raiden clenched his fists and yelled into the emptiness of the sky, even it was no longer the same after Xin had been here, it was twisted and deformed, missing most of itself and was just a hollow shell of a sky, it was this reason he had to be stopped…the realms themselves were at stake.

“Ugh…” Someone lay in the middle of a what seemed to be a disastrous city. Rubble scattered across the remains of what was left, pieces of the road itself somehow broken and passed about, what left of the buildings all had smoke coming from them as if a fire had just recently been put out, and the rain, the rain poured as though the sky itself was crying, weeping down on this once beautiful city, now turned into a ghost town by events that happened here. “Argh..” The person muttered out again, sitting up this time, and taking an apparent grip on their left arm. “Shadow…Shadow..” Their voice called out to someone, but there was no one there to heed the call, just them and the silent echoes of the town. “She’s not here..where could she be..” Again their words silently echoed across the city as their body begin to twitch, every movement seeming to cause them pain as they climbed back to their knees. “What happened..” Now illuminated by the moonlight the figure could now be seen by the naked eye, but thier face and body were covered by a long black overcoat, the hood ‘swallowing’ their face so it could not be seen by those who were not within close proximity of them. The rain caused the coat to glow with elegance, though it was just the refraction of the water and light as the rain ran right off the coat as if it was being repelled by something and could only scratch the surface. The figure raised their head to the sky, the hood somehow managing to stay on as they stared up at the moon. The moon was distractingly beautiful at this time of hour, it was at its peak, completely filled and blocked by no darkness, it poured it’s eerie glow upon the town, lighting up more and more of the destruction but it was such a sight that no person could withstand it’s hypnotizing glow. “I hope they didn’t take you..I don’t want to have failed again…” More words, this time such a whisper not even the ghosts could hear them, they barely traced the outline of the lips and escaped only as a light puff of air. Pulling their attention away from the moon, the person scrambled to their feet quickly, each pitter patter of their body moving about in the puddles of water echoing so loudly for the emptiness only amplified the sorrow. Now back on their feet, they let out a small grunt as they tried to move the arm they had grabbed before, it was apparent now, it was broken and of no use to them at the moment, shrugging it off they gripped it tighter and started to trudge through the streets. “Where are you?!” There were definitely no words shared with the darkness this time for it was only a thought, a thought filled of frustration at not being able to find what they were searching for. The intensity of the rain started to pick up, as if reacting to the emotions of this person, slowing down as they were in control, picking up the pace as they lost control. “I’m sorry..” The feet that had control over where the body went now stopped, keeping their place next to each other as the figure stood there in silence, head lowered, arm grasped, staring at their own reflection in the water below them. Just how long had they been out, how long had it been raining, why was it impossible to recall the events that led up to this. These questions and more ran through their mind as they got closer, and closer to their reflection before getting so close it could suck them in and pull them away to a world unknown, but in this reflection there was something more, something lurking within but not in the water, within them. Their face could not be seen, but despite all the shadows their eyes glowed with such a fierce yellow that it seemed to ‘burn’ through the water itself, the darkness pouring from these eyes was enough to even cause the shadows to flee but yet hidden behind the darkness was innocence and pain, something was struggling to get out but there was something trying to keep that ‘monster’ caged within. “No..I-I…” The figure dropped to their knees in pain, their mind bow boggling as though it were a boat caught in a storm, the pain surging every so often they couldn’t help but cry out and there before their eyes of chaos was a memory hidden away to block out the trauma. “Why can’t you guys leave…” “I don’t belong here, I told you that..” “We all have a right to be, no matter what our creation. Even the most despicable person deserves a second chance…” “….” “Kujiku..” Strangely, no images followed this commotion, just the words and emotions shared as time progressed as it normally would despite the events that go on. “Only words…just echoes of the past…I can’t do much with those alone.” Shaking off the pain emanating throughout their body, they once again looked back at the sky, the rain had indeed slowed it’s pace to match the emptiness that the heart was feeling but before long it reacted again to the emotions of having to find whoever this person was wandering alone in darkness and picked up pace. “I’m starting to…no..I didn’t do it..I couldn’t have..” They climbed back to their feet, once again taking grasp of their arm, ignoring any signs of pain before they continued to trudge through the city, playing the cards of life and death all the while. More empty words echoed this time around, plaguing the innocent mind with words but no pictures, a hint but no answer, just raising more and more questions. “Xin..?” “Hm?” “…Why are you staying here with me?” “Haha, what’s that to ask me..I’m your friend aren’t I?” “But..I’m causing you nothing but trouble, I attract the shadows..” “Well, the way I see it, I get myself into trouble anyway..being corrupted doesn’t quite get me off the hook. So if a monster and a fallen angel can’t be friends, no one can.” “Angel?” “You aren’t a monster like me, so I wouldn’t call you that. Now come on, I need to get you and Zooloo back inside before it starts raining.” Xin stopped walking, listening to the echos of his footsteps. “Zooloo isn’t here either…well she would have followed shadow if something happened..now if someone could be kind enough to tell me where exactly that is, I’d be grateful..” He laughed at his own thoughts just to hide the obvious sadness. There wasn’t much time to relish on these thoughts for something emerged from the shadows, , landing with a loud thud in front of Xin, cracking the already feeble ground even more. “So everything in this town isn’t dead…” He said aloud, looking up at the beast in front of him. It was as corrupted as he, eyes blood red full of rage, darkness pouring off of it’s body freely, and it’s body itself mutated from the ‘infection’. “I feel sorry for you..” Xin looked upon the beast, it was much taller than him, but it was hunched over and bulked up making it seem even more menacing than it really was, well to him at least, fodder like this was an every day thing so the best thing to do was to eliminate it if it got in the way thus he proceeded by letting go of his left arm, it going limp, and holding up his right hand towards the sky. In a flash of light that surrounded the close proximity of the area, he clutched a sword in his now clenched fist, a blade of pure white, the size of a claymore but in the shape of a katana, an intricate pattern of golden lines and twists danced along the blade, one angel wing adorned the hilt, and at the pommel lie a blue ribbon tied to it and tied to that ribbon was a heart, something special to both him and the blade. “Hey Xin?” “Something wrong?” “No, no,I just wanted to know what is with the heart on the end of your weapon.” “That? Oh..it’s a charm..it was given to me awhile ago…a symbol of some kind of bond I had with somebody. Sad thing is, I remember that bond perfectly, I just can’t remember her name..” “Oh so you put it there to help you remember?” “You could say that. When I first got the Esperlancer, the charm attached itself to the blade as a symbol of the small shred of light that remains with me. I remember those words clearly, ‘No matter how far you fall into the darkness, I shall always be the light to save you.’ So it gives Esperlancer it’s shape special to me by using the emotions stored within that chain.” “That’s quite an interesting story..” “Hey, wait a minute, I have something for you..” These words of the past rang loudly in his mind as he summoned his blade to him and at first he didn’t know why but upon second glance at the creature, there was something dangling from it’s mouth, stuck inbetween it’s teeth. Upon seeing this item his heart dropped. “I know you can’t answer me, but mind telling me where you got that?” A growl escaped from the monster, no words, which pushed Xin even more as he stepped closer, the ground breaking under his feet as darkness started to pour freely from him, the battle was slowly shifting to that of the monster within as he stood directly under the beast. In a matter of seconds a loud gush could be heard, it wasn’t the water however, it was blood spurting from the beast as it slowly started to separate into two halves, a clean slice, so clean in fact there was no blood on Esperlancer and with a sickening rub of flesh, the two halves hit the ground with a crash and the item slowly glided to the ground. “Well at least I got a hint..” He thought as he kneeled back on the ground, Esperlancer now gone, picking up the item as it hit the ground, a bracelet, the very same one he had given Shadow. She had questioned him about a bond he had with someone he could not remember, so he thought it would be nice if they started a friendship of their own, he had even given Zooloo a collar, the bracelet however was laying here after falling out of a monster’s mouth, she was somewhere but where that was exactly he had no idea. “I’ll help you find your memory and your friends.” “Really?!” “Of course, we’re all friends here right?” “Well I don’t think I wanna be friends with that pile of rubble over there, he doesn’t talk much.” “Your sense of humor confuses me..” “Oh come on, that was funny..” Another conversation ran through his mind as he pocketed the bracelet, grabbing onto his arm again before slowly trudging off once again. “Don’t worry Xin, we’ll find her..” A new voice echoed in the back of his mind, but it wasn’t caring at all it was taunting, mocking the human emotions that ran his heart. “Just let it go, give me control of our body, if you really want to find her. I’ll make sure to get the job done.” Xin ignored the voice keeping the thought in mind, ‘I’ll always be the light to save you.’, a small smile spreading across his lips. “I know レ━ン•, you’ll be there to save me..” The name came out as a whisper to him, who it was wasn’t even clear and it confused him more that he was able to say it with no audible reaction from his body, it was just a trace of the lips. He again ignored this too, along with everything else, pushing onward for a bigger clue to what he was searching for.

He hit the ground again, no pain this time, only more voices, the yelling the screaming, he could feel the emotions running through him, but it wasn’t what he heard that tortured his mind, it was what he saw. It all started just a few days ago, back when the sun was high and the hope that this new day would be the trip back home. “Xin, are you sure I’d be welcome there?” “Yea, why not, you’d love the place.” Xin and Shadow walked down the streets together, side by side, the elusive grey wolf normally never seen away from her side, nowhere to be seen on this day for she normally stayed back at the building they called home just so the locals would not fear her. ‘If you want information talk to the guy in the brown cloak at the bar…’ These words ran through Xin’s mind before he was distracted once more. “Because…I don’t normally fit in anywhere.” Her face met his, both full of questions but not a single one with an answer. “Hey, my home is your home., you don’t have to worry about that…if no one else will accept you, I will.” They kept walking down the long winding road, Xin could feel the eyes of everyone watching Shadow, their eyes burned right through him and to her, she was right they did keep her as an outcast, just because she was different, this hatred against her was bound to come back on them one day. Xin motioned for her to stay put as he pushed open the wooden door leading into the bar, it was quite empty, three people at the most, that including the bartender, one sprawled all over the floor, empty glass in hand, the other wrapped in a brown cloak, swirling a glass around in between his fingers like a child’s play toy. Xin walked up to him, turning his back towards him, arms crossed, quickly pulling his hood over his head, placing his face into the shadows as well. “You the guy with the answers?” “Depends..how much you givin..” “Money huh? I can’t give you that but…I know you aren’t normal..” “Say again stranger?” As he finished his sentence Xin quickly turned around and swung his fist around, with enough force to crush the entire bar, but the stranger wasn’t there. “Gonna have to do better than that..” The figure stood back to back with him, a claymore against the brush of his neck. “Already have.” Xin had quickly summoned Esperlancer and it was now in his left hand, the blade up against his neck as well. “Didn’t see that one.” They quickly moved away from each other, blades instantly put away, staring at each other through the shadows of their hoods, as if watching the others reactions. Slowly Shadow pushed through the door, for he was taking far too long for her tastes. She paced herself into the room, taking a slow step as she looked around, not much was damaged this time, unlike with their other adventures but she could feel the intensity between the cloaked one and Xin. “Well, what exactly do you need an answer to?” Xin crossed his arms, adjusted the way he was standing to avoid looking so serious now that their duet of blades was over, granted it wasn’t much of one. “A place..Hakumei Islands..ever hear of it?” Temporarily, the memories faded away from this moment and tosses him back in the present, Xin now lay on the ground, grasping his head with his only good arm, the memories continued to flood, continued to haunt, but the main thing bothering him was the hatred, the hatred he felt on this day was enough to drive any man insane, it was becoming sentient, it was starting to have a life of it’s own, a mind, a will, a desire, but it was unclear as to what, for now they were only beasts who hid amongst the darkness to take shape and form, an entire army comprised of hatred, what was this world turing into and why was there so much of this emotion to flow around to create an army. “The army…” He sat back up, head towards the sky, letting the rain capture the skin on his face, the hood of the cloak slowly falling off, revealing his face to the world though there was no one around to see it. His eyes were still the frightening yellow from before, and his hair which was normally jet black was now a dark silver, a sign he was losing the battle within by a good margin, but somehow he managed to stay in control. “It all began there…” As the water started to trickle down his face he started to cry, the blend of the tears and rain hiding his pain, his voice joining in with the emptiness as he screamed out towards the sky, wishing he could be heard, hoping that someone would hear his plea, come to his aid and save him from himself. This was all his fault and he knew it…the army had caused most of the destruction, but he himself was the final cataclysm, he may have brought an end to it all, but he brought the end to everything else too. He closed his eyes, the water splashing off of him violently now as it picked up pace, this memory wasn’t going to hold back, it was going to attack full force. Like a ship in a hurricane his brain was swept away in the waves of the memory taking him back from now to then… It was a bright early morning, Xin sat perched on the building that he and Shadow stay in, away from the prying eyes of the towns people. “Can you feel it?” Shadow asked him, appearing out of nowhere, two wings of a raven now clearly visible on her back, they were spread afar, blocking out the sun and keeping her friend safe in the shadows of her wings. “I’m not a vampire silly.” “I know that, but your body reacts better when in the shadows.” He turned his head to look at her, one eyebrow raised, a look of question upon his face. “How do you know that?” “I can read you, you and your darkness.” He laughed silently to himself, hopping down from his perch, standing closer to the shadows of her wingspan. “Well thank you…and to answer your earlier question, yes…I can..the air is so heavy you could cut it..” He laughed to himself again, imitating a cutting action as if he had a knife in his hand. “Haha, must you be funny at this time?” Shadow pushed his shoulder lightly, making him bounce back just a bit. “Of course, you have to have some kind of hope even during your most peril of moments. Hope always pulls you through.” A small smile crept across her face, slowly but surely, she couldn’t help but be a bit inspired by his words. “You’ve stuck by my side this whole time and you didn’t have to…I don’t know what to say…” “Don’t say anything, just smile and when I take you to see my friends, talk to them ok?” He smiled brightly, no hint of worry coming from his scent, as Shadow would say, from him at all. He turned back around, hopping back up on his perch, standing upright, right hand over his eyes to block out the glaring sun, surveying the area. Something was definitely pulling it self together down there, a hazy cloud of grey formed over in the horizon, slowly making it’s way towards the two, hunting them down, they had been trying to lose it for days now but it always seemed to come back, knowing exactly where they were so the time for running was long gone, it was time to take a stand against it. Against what they did not know but they were ready for anything. “Their fates intertwined. A monster and one who shouldn’t exist. Hm…this might turn out to be one hell of a party, I just might have to crash it.” Out on the ‘plains’ of the city, on a lone telephone pole stood the stranger from before, wrapped up in his cloak, again hiding his face from prying eyes but as a flock of birds flew by he was gone just as quickly as he was there.
